Dr. Choudhri on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Cancer Care

Ajay Choudhri, MD, discusses the impact of developments in artificial intelligence in cancer care.

Ajay Choudhri, MD, director, Vascular and Interventional Radiology assistant director, Radiology, Capital Health, discusses the impact of developments in artificial intelligence in cancer care.

Advancements in artificial intelligence applications have allowed radiologists to optimally streamline their work, where they can evaluate and address the high-priority patients more effectively, Choudhri says. This allows patients to reach the proper specialists in a timely manner for treatment, Choudhri adds.

In cancer treatment centers across the United States, artificial intelligence has been rapidly adopted to aid in tasks that would be time consuming for a radiologist alone, Choudhri explains. However, skepticism from physicians has caused artificial intelligence to slowly be adopted into other areas of practice, Choudhri concludes.
