The new guidelines for kidney cancer are extremely rich, says Campbell, which is a departure from the basic indexing that has been the standard since 2009.

The functional aspects of the evaluation and management of patients are emphasized in these new guidelines, explains Campbell, including recommendations on staging and who should be referred to the nephrologist.
