There are several ongoing trials looking at adjuvant versus early salvage radiation therapy. Three trials that have already been published support the use of secondary radiation therapy after surgery for men with adverse pathology.
However, these trials do not determine if secondary radiation needs to be given in the adjuvant or early salvage setting, says Cooperberg.
There are also ongoing trials looking at cytoreduction for metastatic disease, explains Cooperberg.
