Dr. Crawford on the Prostate Cancer Treatment Landscape

E. David Crawford, MD, from the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, discusses the rapidly changing treatment landscape for men with advanced prostate cancer.

E. David Crawford, MD, professor in Surgery and Radiation Oncology and the head of Urologic Oncology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, discusses the rapidly changing treatment landscape for men with advanced prostate cancer.

This is an exciting era in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, Crawford says. In recent years, 5 new agents have been approved and several promising agents are in the pipeline.

In advanced prostate cancer, before these agents were approved, treatment options were limited to only hormonal therapy followed by chemotherapy. With these new treatment approaches, Crawford feels optimistic that patients with advanced prostate cancer could be potentially "cured" of the disease.
