There are many genes that are included in the NCCN guidelines that are followed in genetic clinics, states Ginsburg. These guidelines are important to follow for insurance purposes.
When offered genetic counseling, more patients will be educated on BRCA1/2 genes, Lynch syndrome, and could be qualified for up to 80-gene panels, states Ginsburg.
