Dr. Rai Discusses CLL in Older Populations

Kanti R. Rai, MD, discusses older populations with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Kanti R. Rai, MD, professor, The Karches Center for Oncology Research, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, director, Center for Oncology and Cell Biology, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, professor, Medicine and Molecular Medicine, Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, discusses older populations with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Treatment should be individualized for patients with CLL, and not based solely on age, says Rai. A patient who is 65 may be as healthy as a 50-year-old, or as frail as someone much older.
