In a phase II study, the efficacy of induction chemotherapy and transoral surgery was studied as a definitive treatment for oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
Through this regimen, Siegel hopes to eliminate the morbidly of radiation therapy, which is the current standard of care for these patients.
