Allison A. Aggon, DO, FACOS, an Associate Professor in the Division of Breast Surgery within the Department of Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently presented with an Earth Angel Award during an event celebrating the 7th year of Main St., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients in Bucks County. The Earth Angel Awards honor individuals who have contributed significantly to the local breast cancer community in Bucks County.

“Main St. is a wonderful organization that contributes greatly to the breast cancer community through fundraising that directly supports local breast cancer patients. I am incredibly honored to be receiving this Earth Angel Award,” said Aggon.

Main St., which was formerly known as Pine2Pink, hosts a month-long program in October in which thousands of pink lights are illuminated around towns and street names are changed to Pink Street to increase breast cancer awareness. In addition, numerous fundraising events such as walks, raffles, yoga sessions, and fashion shows are held to raise money for community-based aid.

“As our nonprofit has grown and expanded into more communities, it was a good time to create a platform to honor the caregivers in our healthcare community and offer recognition for all they do within their institutions, and more broadly throughout our community,” said Keith Fenimore, the Founder of Main St.

“The Earth Angel Award is a way to thank and show gratitude to our amazing local healthcare professionals and extraordinary community members making a difference. Main St. will continue to shine a light on people doing good work to help our local breast cancer patients in treatment, recovery, and beyond.”

The organization’s efforts have benefited more than 2,000 breast cancer patients and raised over $600,000 to support the comfort and care of individuals with breast cancer in active treatment and recovery. The funds raised by Main St. assist patients at Fox Chase Cancer Center -Buckingham Regional Campus, Grand View Health, Doylestown Health, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic St. Mary Medical Center, and Kin Wellness and Support Center.
