Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Leah Grandi Holben, MD, as an Assistant Professor in the General Hematology/Oncology Program. She will see patients at Fox Chase Cancer Center at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Holben is joining Fox Chase following the completion of a hematology/oncology fellowship at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where she served as chief fellow in her final year. Prior to that, she completed an internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital.

Holben earned her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University following the completion of her bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Gettysburg College.

During her training, Holben was involved in research projects in areas such as melanoma, lung cancer, and the effects of cannabis and opioids on cancer patients. Holben has also created and contributed to several publications and presentations as well.

In her free time, Holben attends “troops” with Garrison Carida (501st Legion), Kyber Base (Rebel Legion) and Mav Oya’la Clan (Mandalorian Mercs), which are all volunteer Star Wars costuming groups that spread smiles at charity events, community days, and sporting events throughout Central and Eastern Pennsylvania.
