PLAINSBORO, N.J. (Feb. 2, 2015) — OncLive® today welcomes the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center as a partner in raising the standard of cancer care through OncLive’s Strategic Alliance Partnership program.
The new partnership enables OncLive’s editorial and marketing teams to increase awareness of the Center where more than 200 cancer specialists use innovative treatments, leading-edge research and clinical trials not available elsewhere to attack cancer from every angle. The Center has been designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, in recognition of its work in developing and translating scientific knowledge from promising laboratory discoveries into new treatments for cancer patients.
Mike J. Hennessy Jr., senior vice president, oncology & specialty pharmacy, which includes OncLive, said, “It is our honor to partner with the prestigious University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, which has been a leader in cancer research for more than 50 years. Its scientists and clinicians have consistently expanded the boundaries of knowledge and transformed cancer care and prevention. In fact, seminal discoveries made at UChicago have stimulated the development and introduction of many of the cancer treatments used today.”
Hennessy added, “The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center joins more than 30 other leading cancer centers, nursing schools and physician groups around the country in partnering with OncLive. These partnerships benefit all levels of healthcare professionals dedicated to combating cancer, as well as the patients they serve.
